A historic houseboat once owned by aviation pioneer Sir Thomas Sopwith has gone on the market for £250,000.
The boat was originally commissioned by Sopwith, who is best known for the Sopwith Camel fighter plane used in World War I.
Now fully restored by its current owners, the yacht, which has two bedrooms, provides modern comfort.

With a refitted bathroom, it has been carefully renovated to create a unique home on the water.

The original wheelhouse has been preserved and meticulously restored, retaining the vessel’s character.
From here, a large aft deck can be accessed, offering the perfect setting for dining and entertaining.

With nearly 360 degrees of natural light filling the living space, the boat offers a bright and airy environment throughout.
The open-plan kitchen features contemporary fitted units and a breakfast bar, ideal for enjoying the waterfront views at any time of day.

A door leads to the bow of the vessel, where a partially renovated area presents the opportunity to create a third bedroom, home office, or utility room.
Additional storage is also available beneath the living area.

The saloon leads into a fully fitted galley kitchen and a separate utility room.
The vessel, a Monaco 52 powerboat built by British shipbuilder Morgan Giles, is currently moored at St Katharine Docks in Wapping, London.

The property is currently available with RiverHomes, who described its “prestigious history, unique setting, and central location” as making the yacht a “rare opportunity to own a piece of aviation heritage”.
