A rental ad offering a spare room for £1,050 a month has been dubbed “delusional” – with the space boasting minimal furniture and a mattress on the floor in lieu of a bed.
The small room, located in Dunstable, is painted lilac and has a radiator, two windows, a shelving unit and iron, alongside storage for clothes.
The ‘bed’ appears to be a single mattress on the floor, with a small fan propped next to it.

Bizarrely, the room is available for “two single girls or one couple”, despite the rather paltry size.
The room is available from 9 August for a minimum term of six months, and requires a deposit of one month’s rent, reports Luxury Property News.
No pictures of any shared spaces including the kitchen or bathroom were shared.
The price is advertised at £1,050 per month including council tax and all bills.
The listing reads: “I want to share 1 room of my house on rent.
“2 single girls or 1 couple are allowed to stay.
“You can use living area, kitchen, garden, parking at any time as per your job adjustment.
“We are preferring vegetarian.
“We can allowed eggs only but they should keep their utensils separate (only for eggs).”
Amenities listed include a washing machine and dryer, dishwasher, fridge, oven, sofa, dining table, and – curiously – a chimney.
The listing was shared on social media, where it garnered ridicule due to the high price.
One person said it “seems delusional” while another person poked fun at its description of “furnished”.
Another user commented: “I really want to see what the shared areas are like considering the price and apparent lack of space for a double bed plus any meaningful furniture!”
Others were confused by the requirement that the tenants be “two single girls or one couple”.
The stipulation that the diet of the tenants should be vegetarian, but can include eggs, also raised eyebrows.
