A world-famous Airbnb resembling a spacecraft has gone on sale alongside its equally futuristic neighbours for offers over £650,000.
AirShip 002, on Scotland’s remote Morvern Peninsula, has become one of the UK’s most sought-after holiday lets.
The silver, aluminium-clad pod is famed for its curved body, portholes and enormous “dragonfly” windows overlooking the Sound of Mull.

It currently boasts an average rating of 4.94 out of five from more than 500 Airbnb reviews and ranks among the platform’s top 10% of homes, as reported by Luxury Property News.
Now the otherworldly retreat is being sold as part of the Druim Na Cracaig portfolio near Drimnin, Oban.

The asking price has been reduced by £100,000 after the collection was initially marketed for offers over £750,000.
Included in the sale are two more unusual holiday lets, The PilotHouse and The Captain’s Cabin, as well as a two-bedroom owner’s or housekeeper’s home known as The Old Chapel.
The properties occupy an elevated plot of more than four acres with views towards Tobermory, the Ardnamurchan Peninsula and the surrounding mountains.
AirShip 002 was designed by architect Roderick James and interior designer Amanda Markham as an experiment in compact aluminium construction.

Its spaceship-like interior includes a double bed, kitchenette, living area, shower room and wood-burning stove.
The success of the AirShip led to the creation of The PilotHouse, an elliptical two-storey building with its living room raised above the ground to capture the sea views.
Downstairs is a bedroom, study and shower room, while an external balcony looks towards Tobermory.
The Captain’s Cabin takes its inspiration from life at sea, with a saloon, galley kitchen, double bedroom and a private rooftop “deck”.

Despite its nautical appearance, it comes with modern comforts including underfloor heating, triple glazing and renewable electricity.
The Old Chapel provides a more conventional base for whoever takes over the business, with two bedrooms, a kitchen, living room and conservatory.
Parking, workshops, storage buildings and the established holiday-letting operation are also included.
Savills says the business has recorded a consistent annual turnover of around £100,000 during each of the past four years.

The distinctive cabins have attracted guests from across the world and appeared on television programmes including Scotland’s Greatest Escape and Alan Cumming’s Paradise Homes.
Selling agent Iona Conn said: “Few hospitality businesses combine such imaginative architecture, proven commercial success and an utterly captivating setting.
“AirShip 002, The PilotHouse and The Captain’s Cabin have become destinations in their own right, attracting visitors from across the globe to experience this remarkable corner of the west coast.”
The freehold collection is listed with Savills for offers over £650,000.
