A “hidden gem” pub that was once a public toilet has become the capital’s “best kept secret” for watching the Euros.
The High Cross Pub in Tottenham is a favorite spot for football fans looking to grab a quick pint – or two – while enjoying the matches.
As the European Championships are in full swing, the pub offers a cozy retreat within the bustling city, making it a perfect spot to watch games like the England v Denmark match on Thursday, June 20.

Owner Alex shared his enthusiasm with Luxury Property News, saying, “I’m excited to see the turnout for our second match in the Euros. We had quite a few people in for Sunday’s game, but I’m not expecting masses of footie fans to turn up. It’s only a small pub with two televisions, but I’ll invite my dad down, and a few of the locals will pop in to enjoy it.
There’s a huge pub down the road with a beer garden that I imagine most people will go to. But if you don’t want to be surrounded by rowdy fans, spilling and throwing beer over you, then it’s a quaint little place to tune in.”
Alex, 35, transformed the building after it had been a derelict public toilet for 30 years. In 2017, as part of a regeneration scheme, he applied and got approval to convert it into a pub. Since then, visitors from around the globe have been surprised and delighted by its unique charm.
“It’s like a Tardis,” Alex remarked. “I’ve had people come in saying they remember using it as a toilet when they were kids. Others are blown away by how nice it is inside. It has exceeded what I ever expected.”
England’s second match in the Euros is set to kick off at 5pm. At the High Cross Pub, patrons can enjoy a selection of 10 beers on tap, with pints starting at £5.50, along with a menu featuring cheeseburgers and pies to savor as they cheer on their team.
