A set of public toilets have hit the market and they could sell for £10,000.

The stone-clad detached building is a freehold and is separated into ladies and gents.

It is being sold by the town hall.

The bogs could be converted for other uses, meaning it could help a hard-up Brit step onto the property ladder.

They are located in Penryn, near Falmouth, Cornwall, as reported by Luxury Property News.

A large proportion of Penryn’s buildings date from Tudor, Jacobean and Georgian times.

Because of that, the town has been designated as an important conservation area.

In the summer of 2023, the town council appealed for ideas for the upkeep of the public toilets after a spate of vandalism.

A year later, the town council resolved to hand the toilets back to Cornwall.

Auctioneer, David Henwood, of agents Clive Emson, said: “These detached conveniences are arranged with separate gents and ladies toilet facilities as well as an accessible toilet cubicle.”

The listing states: “Any future use of the lot would be subject to all necessary consents being obtainable.”

The auction ends next Thursday (6 Feb).

It has a guidance price of £10,000 to £15,000.
