Fancy bagging yourself a bargain buy in a quintessentially British town?
Look no further – a detached house in Alcester near Stratford-upon-Avon – the birthplace of William Shakespeare and where he is also buried – is up for sale at just £175,000.
The home has a peculiar feature, though.

Aside from featuring two bedrooms and a garden, there is a loo that leaves a lot to be desired.
It is placed under a set of stairs on the second floor, between the landing and a bedroom.
The stairs lead to another room in the house.
While you can close a door to one level, the other room appears to be just a few steps away – so make sure no one is upstairs while you’re doing your business.
And watch your head, it’s a tight space.
The toilet room also doubles up as a utility room, so that’s something.
Don’t fret though, as there is another, perfectly normal, bathroom in the property as well.
Social media users have been left tickled by the unusual layout of the home.
One user said: “I actually really like this house aside from the open toilet . It has character.”
Another joked: “Would you like some concussion added to your toilet visit, sir?”
Another said: “Good use of that wasted space… is that a wine rack beside the toilet…”
One user quipped: “A convenient and comfortable place to unburden your bowels while drowning your sorrows.”
Another person added: “All that needs doing is to swap the bathroom and utility room and turn the stairs around. Job’s a good’un.”
The property is set to be sold at auction by R A Bennett & Partners, and the agent strongly recommends that you see it for yourself, reports Luxury Property News.
But watch out for the fees as the transaction will need to be completed in just 56 days.
You’ll also have to sign a reservation agreement and pay a non-refundable reservation fee of 4.5%.
