A home with a gaping hole at the front of the property is being auctioned off for a low starting price of £35,000.
8 White House Close, located in the picturesque Carbis Bay, St Ives, Cornwall, is no ordinary property.
The home made headlines earlier this year after a surprise mineshaft opened up outside the front window, leaving residents of the quiet cul-de-sac in disarray.

An emergency security fence was erected by Cornwall Council’s highways wing Cormac, which stretched around the abode, across the road and onto the opposite pavement.
While it caused upheaval for neighbours at the time, the protective measures appear to have since been moved to only the property’s grounds.
And just in the nick of time for it be auctioned off at the low starting price of £35,000, plus fees, reports Luxury Property News.
The four-bedroom, two bathroom detached bungalow may be in need of some serious TLC outside, but inside, it’s a different story.
The living room is compact, yet provides enough space to entertain all the family or unwind after a stressful day – just don’t look outside the window.
The kitchen needs a little modernisation, as does the bedrooms, but they are generously spacious.
Toward the back, there’s a small garden, with a separate dining room and seating area found in the conservatory.
While fencing and a gaping hole is the first sight you’ll see, there’s also a driveway and garage to the right hand side.
The listing describes the home as “requiring repair and improvement works in sought after Location”.
It also states: “The property comprises well proportioned accommodation (although is subject to mining activity) which now requires remedial works.
“With this in mind, some may wish to consider replacement of the existing dwelling following demolition, subject to all necessary consents being obtainable.”
The town of St Ives is just a stone’s throw away and its price is incredibly low from other houses in the area, with a similar-sized bungalow fetching £250,000 in the last five years.
While viewings aren’t possible due to “safety concerns”, the property will be going up for auction on 16 September until 18 September with Clive Emson and Marshall’s Estate Agents of Penzance.
