A chocolate-box cottage featured in The Vicar of Dibley is going under the hammer with a guide price of £375,000.
The two-bedroom Church Cottage stands inside the church grounds in Turville, Buckinghamshire, the village transformed into fictional Dibley for the much-loved BBC comedy.
Its brick, flint and timber-framed exterior appeared prominently beside St Mary the Virgin Church, which doubled as St Barnabas throughout the series.

However, buyers should not mistake it for the home of Dawn French’s character, Reverend Geraldine Granger.
Contemporary property coverage identifies Church Cottage as the vicarage’s next-door neighbour, while filming guides say Geraldine’s exterior was created using two adjoining cottages nearby, as reported by Luxury Property News.

One doorway was reportedly concealed during filming to make them look like a single, larger home, while interior scenes were shot in a BBC studio.
The Grade II-listed cottage dates from the 17th century and retains plenty of period charm.
Pictures show its storybook frontage overlooking the churchyard, complete with weathered beams, traditional casement windows and a red-tiled roof.

Inside, the 872sq ft property has a cosy sitting room dominated by an exposed brick-and-stone fireplace.
There is also an unfitted kitchen, a ground-floor bathroom and a useful cellar.
Upstairs are two double bedrooms with views across the village green towards Cobstone Windmill, itself famous as the home of Caractacus Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Outside, the cottage has a generous south-facing rear garden, off-road parking and a former lean-to carport.
Auctioneers say some updating has already been completed, although the property requires further renovation.
Auction guides are not formal valuations, however, and additional costs will apply to the winning bid.

The buyer must pay a premium of six per cent plus VAT, subject to the terms in the legal pack, and completion is generally required within 28 days.
Pre-auction offers will also be considered.
Turville became instantly recognisable to millions after The Vicar of Dibley first went on air in 1994, with its church, green and cottages providing the backdrop for Geraldine and her eccentric parishioners.

The village has also appeared in productions including Midsomer Murders, Killing Eve, Goodnight Mister Tom and 101 Dalmatians. The Standard
Church Cottage will be sold through Town & Country Property Auctions on 12 November.
