The historic home, in Petersfield, Hants, was designed in the 1920s by celebrated Arts and Crafts architect Inigo Triggs, with gardens created by iconic designer Gertrude Jekyll.

The current owners spent six years renovating and modernising the property, completing the huge project in 2023, as reported by Luxury Property News.

During the overhaul, all plumbing, electrics, and insulation were brought up to current standards, while reclaimed handmade roof tiles, bricks, oak beams and cast iron guttering were sourced from period buildings across the UK.

The main house spans 6,265 sq ft, with an additional annex known as The Hollow offering another 2,600 sq ft.

Inside, the property boasts six bedrooms in the main house, including a large master suite, with light flooding through 167 double-glazed windows.

Outside, the estate is approached by electric gates and a sweeping tree-lined driveway.

Its gardens, originally designed by Jekyll, feature winding paths, colourful azaleas and a 500m descent overlooking the South Downs.

The grounds also include a large pond with a central fountain, home to wild ducks.

The owner said: “I’ll really miss being able to wake up and walk through the woods.

“However, the house was always a family home but now our children are all grown up and soon to leave.”

He added: “When I look at the stone on the home’s elevations, I think of the men who cut it by hand 100 years ago.

“I hope the new owner appreciates the craftsmanship that has gone into it and feels as privileged as I do to have looked after it for a time.”

Although the Harrier is shown in the house listing the agents say it is not included in the sale.

It is being marketed by agents TAUK for offers in excess of £3.25 million.
