A unique barge that featured on Channel 4’s My Floating home has hit the market for £1.25M.

And Thor, as it’s been named, comes with a rather interesting backstory.

The Dutch barge was purchased by Dusan Hamlin, who was living in a cramped flat along with his wife, Clarissa.

The 51-year-old snapped up the boat, which dates back to 1865, for £131,000.

And £746,000 later, it was turned into their dream floating home, reports Luxury Property News.

Across three storeys, there’s a spacious kitchen with all the amenities.

There’s also a cellar, engine room, open-plan dining room and luxurious bathroom, complete with walk-in shower and deep-fill bathtub.

Other rooms include a large main bedroom and a sunken living room; all with their very own toilets.

And a studio, complete with its very own ensuite and kitchenette.

It’s currently docked at St Mary’s Wandsworth Pier, SW11, offering picturesque views of the River Thames and capital city from wherever you look.

The couple commissioned marine architects Naval Martin and Dutch houseboat builders SRF to complete the transformation in 2017.

It also features underfloor heating and air conditioning; a rarity in the UK.

There’s also an impressive utility unit below deck, housing 2,500-litre water tanks, waste systems, a Victron inverter, power assist and a diesel engine.

It also has scope for three terraces to be built off the main living areas.

And in 2020, it was featured on Channel 4’s programme My Floating Home.

The family, which includes Dusan, Clarissa and their their son, Marley, six, as well as a cat and dog, hoped for this to be their long-term home.

But now, they’re selling their labour of love, as Dusan’s job is taking him abroad.

The home, which is located within the heart of London, is listed with River Homes for £1.25m.
