Nestled on the west coast overlooking a tidal bay off Loch Linnhe in Oban is the waterfront home dating back to the 19th century.

Called Ardentinny Bothy, the home is located at the tip of a small peninsula, with stunning views to the east across the mountains of Argyll and of the surrounding waters.

The home is accessed via a farm track 1.5 miles across a farm, and can also be reached by boat.

Described as “brimming with character and rustic charm”, the pad features one bedroom and one bathroom, two reception rooms, including a cosy sitting room with a wood-burning stove and exposed timber ceiling beams, and a galley-style kitchen.

Its remote location means you’ll have to travel three miles to reach the nearest amenities in the village of Benderloch, or 11 miles to Oban, the nearest town.

Historically, it was used as a sheltered entrance to Loch Creran and was a working farm until the mid-20th century, before being turned into an “off-grid, rural retreat”.

The current owners have owned the bothy since 2010, and have refurbished it, including installing double glazing.
