A tiny castle-like building is being let for just £333-a-month – but there’s no running water
This historical Roman building, located in one of the UK’s hottest tourist spots, is now looking for a new tenant.
However, it maybe too basic for some.
It looks like a castle, but it’s actually a gateway connected to the walls.
The famous Micklegate Bar, York, has previously been used as a museum to showcase historical items of interest.

The gate, which dates back to the 12th century, is listed as a new shop lease on the rental market.
Conjoined to the famous York walls, the property is in an ideal location.
Stretching over three floors, the ancient building is suitable for a retail, workshop or display space.

The property up for rent reaches over 987 sq ft.
Barry Crux and Co. are currently offering Micklegate Bar for rent, as reported by Luxury Property News.
A spokesperson for the estate agent stated: “Unique property located over three floors.
Dating back to Roman times, the structure offers an abundance of character.

“This presents an ideal opportunity for somebody to use this unique space.
“It would lend itself well to either some sort of retail use, particularly for arts and crafts.
“Other uses may be possible, although catering would be difficult due to the lack of water supply.”
Members of the public have been left in awe by the listing.
Bryn Rowe said, “No running water, otherwise I’d be all in.”
Jodie said, “That’s awfully affordable, that.”

Geena added: “For that price, I have to assume it’s haunted.”
Another said: “It’s cheaper than my student house on the edge of Tang Hall, what the hell, let me in.”
One added: “That’s a prime location in York, too.”
