A three-bedroom cottage is selling for £300,000 – but there’s a grave in the garden that has to stay.
The quaint home also has two reception rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a large garden.
The rural property however is hiding a dark secret.

The previous owner was buried in the garden.

And her daughter insists that her resting place remains.
The home in Perranporth, near Newquay, Cornwall, is being advertised by Clive Pearce Property.
It is also being advertised on Rightmove, as reported by Luxury Property News.

The description reads: “If you are looking for a comprehensive renovation project and a character property in a great location, this bedroom detached character cottage is bound to be of interest.
“The cottage briefly comprises; two ground floor reception rooms and a kitchen with three first floor bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs.
“The potential for a lovely home is obvious but there are a couple of points to consider.

“The property is being sold with no chain and as part of a deceased estate.”
But it adds: “When the deceased’s mother died she was buried in the garden and the grave still exists just yards from the cottage.
“It was the daughter’s wish that her mother’s grave should not be exhumed, destroyed or interfered with in any way.

“Also worth noting; there is currently only pedestrian access and not vehicular access.”
It also carries the warning: “Please also note; there is a grave in the garden which we understand should not be exhumed, demolished or interfered with.”
The property also requires “comprehensive renovation” but has the potential to be a wonderful home.

A spokesperson for Clive Pearce Property said: “The property has already generated a huge amount of interest from buyers from all over the country and we have already booked in a high number of viewings.
“It’s always exciting to handle unusual properties and this one certainly falls into that category.”
