Among the astonishing 34 rooms – nine of which are bedrooms and seven are bathrooms – there is also a vast recreation room and a Mexican-style tavern.

The property presents everything one may expect from a chateau, including secret passages, dungeons and a watch tower.
Its medieval decor features parquet floors, marble bathrooms, monumental fireplaces and stone staircases.

There is also a games and cinema room on the third floor.

The Chateau de Saint-Chartier, which is located in the Saint Chartier commune in France, also has an outbuilding which has been there since the 15th century.
Many historical figures have visited the space, as reported by Luxury Property News.

It was once owned by a cousin of the former King of England, Richard the Lionheart, as well as a chamberlain of Napoleon.

A book written by Ivo Fornesa states that Napoleon would have stopped off at the Saint Chartier on his return from Waterloo.
According to the Spanish historian, some villagers believed that Napoleon buried some of his personal treasure somewhere on the premises.

Other famous visitors include Joan of Arc and Honoré de Balzac.
The French Novelist, George Sand, also set her novel, Les Maîtres Sonneurs, at the chateau.

Over time, the property has been partly rebuilt before being extensively remodelled at the end of the 19th century.
Its current owner has worked on restoring the chateau from 2010 onwards.
