The house that witnessed the crime behind TV series ‘Murder at the Post Office’ has hit the market for £355,000.
The property, which used to be a post office, was the scene of a heinous murder that is the subject of renewed public interest.
The four-bed home is located on East Road in Melsonby, North Yorkshire, as reported by Luxury Property News.

In March 2010, Diana Garbutt, 40, was found murdered in her bed and her husband – who has always maintained his innocence – was convicted of the crime the following year.

Despite postmaster Robin Garbutt’s claims of armed robbers confronting him, stealing money and attacking his wife, he received a life sentence.
Interest in the killing that rocked a sleepy village is growing again thanks to the Sky Original true crime series.
Many family, friends and locals believe 60-year-old Garbutt is innocent.

The series explores the lack of physical evidence linking him to the crime – and connects the conviction to the wider Post Office scandal.
The Horizon IT system errors have been linked to many other wrongful convictions, with the fight for compensation and justice not over yet.
Echoing many incorrect accusations made by the Post Office, prosecutors said Garbutt had been stealing money from his branch, then argued he faked a robbery and killed Diana to cover it up.

The post office in Melsonby was closed following the murder.
It has now been renovated into a home which is being sold by Irvings Property Limited, with the listing being posted last year.
Robin has served 15 years of his life sentence, maintained his innocence throughout it and unsuccessfully appealed his conviction three times.

A spokesperson for Irvings Property Limited said: “Located within the centre of this highly regarded village and brimming with character, this four-bedroomed end of terrace property provides well-planned living spaces which will appeal to a variety of buyers.
“To the ground floor is a living room, a dining room, a fantastic recently fitted open plan kitchen, cloakroom and a self-contained office and storage space.

“A crime was committed at this property over 14 years ago, further details available upon request.”
