A property that was once lived in by one of the Golden Girls foursome has hit the market for an eye-watering sum.

Rue McClanahan was a well-known household name for her portrayal of Blanche Devereaux in the 1985 hit sitcom series.

She, along with Bea Arthur, Estelle Getty and Betty White, shared a flat together as four divorcees – and the show focused on the hilarious situations they found themselves in.

Sadly, Rue passed away in June 2010, leaving behind an impressive legacy; and home.

Located in Los Angeles, nestled within the neighbourhood of Encino, California, US, is the star’s former six-bedroom, 12-bathroom, 2.5-acre property.

In 2017, this was sold on to producer Rachel Winter, who has worked on top Hollywood blockbusters such as The Dallas Buyers Club, The Sopranos and The Wolf of Wall Street.

Since completing on the 11,762 sqft mansion, she’s worked with architect Linda Brettler to create a modern art-deco-style abode.

And now, it’s hit the market for an eye-watering $17.8m (USD) (£13.6m), reports Luxury Property News.

Stepping inside through the grand front double door entrance, there’s a spacious foyer.

From a window above the sink the conservatory can be seen, which features another dining table and a rather bizarre seating area.
