The iconic late Hollywood actor’s getaway home has been sold for a whopping $2.9m – and it’s located on the cusp of where the hit Blockbuster was filmed.
Burt Reynolds shot to fame in 1962, with his breakout role in the Western tale of Gunsmoke.
In 1972, though, he quickly became a household name with his performance in thriller, Deliverance, as Lewis Medlock.

Since then, he made notable appearances in flicks such as The Longest Yard, Boogie Nights and The Smokey and the Bandit trilogy.
During the peak of his career, between 1978 and 1982, it’s believed he was Hollywood’s highest-paid actor.
Sadly, in 2018, he passed away, leaving his legacy – and portfolio of 14 properties – behind.
One of those homes was a cabin located high up in the mountains, North Carolina, US, which has recently sold for an eye-watering $2.9m (£2.2m), reports Luxury Property News.
And he snapped it up while filming his award-winning role as Lewis Medlock after falling in love with the area.
Inside, each room is decorated in a typical log cabin style, with wooden ceilings and walls encompassing every nook and cranny.
To add a touch of uniqueness, tree trunks have been carved to make bed frames, with stones used to create an intimate shower, as well as the centrepiece fireplace.
The sunken living room is believed to have once hosted stars such as Sally Field and James Garner, with natural materials as the main focus throughout.
In the open-plan kitchen and dining room, bizarrely shaped walls, accompanied by artwork and rustic chandeliers make the home a masterpiece in its own right.
There’s also a games room, with a billiards table and another living room nook.
From wherever you look, the picturesque view over the Blue Ridge Mountains and trees can be admired.
Outside, a modern piece of architecture is offered, taking away from the traditional essence of a cabin.
With a wrap-around porch, including separate al fresco seating areas and a tranquil waterfall, it’s a place to truly relax.
As it blends into the surrounding landscape, privacy is always ensured.
The home was built in 1972, the same year Deliverance made its debut, by Frank Lloyd Wright protege, Jim Fox.
Burt, who won two Golden Globes and a Primetime Emmy, snapped up the property with his then-wife, Loni Anderson.
The current owners lived there for 23 years, spending their time enhancing the home, including adding an in-ground heated plunge pool/hot tub, serving bar and a wine cellar.
Located in the Nantahala National Forest, the small town of Highlands has only 1,000 residents.
With Nashville, Charleston and Charlotte only a short drive away, there’s an endless amount of activities waiting.
And for a bit of celebrity spotting, Steve Martin, Stephen King and Nicole Kidman also have homes nearby.
The listing, which features on Top 10 Real Estate Deals, has since been sold by Jody Lovell at Sotheby’s International Realty for $2.9m (£2.2m).
