A house pictured riddled in mould has gone on the market for £230,000 – with the damp so bad, viewers online mistook it for a wallpaper design.
The three-bedroom mid terrace townhouse, in Rochester, looks fairly innocent from the outside, but upon stepping foot through the front door there’s quite the unpleasant surprise.
Lining the walls and ceiling, the area is almost entirely covered in what appears to be mould.

Creating a spotted pattern across the walls, potential buyers could be mistaken for thinking it a bold design choice.
But heading into the bathroom, there are once again large patches of black on the walls.
Turning to head up the stairs, huge sections of wall are covered.
Set across three floors, the home has three bedrooms (one with an en suite), a family bathroom, reception room, kitchen, garage, garden and balcony.
The listing images were shared online.
One person said: “If you hadn’t mentioned it, I would have thought it was sh**e wall paper.”
“It’s not my first choice for wallpaper… OH MY GOD. I don’t think I have ever seen a place with that much damp and look lived in? It’s weird seeing the pictures on the wall like nothing has happened,” said another viewer.
Someone else commented: “I thought it was spotty wallpaper at first!”
“I’m coughing from looking at the pictures,” another user wrote.
Someone else said: “How on earth did it get that bad?”
The property is set for auction on 12 September with Barnard Marcus, Hammersmith Auctions, reports Luxury Property News.
The listing doesn’t mention the state of the walls, reading: “The property is located on Applecross Close which lies off Esplanade.
“Shopping amenities can be found locally within Rochester Town Centre lying to the north with a further range of amenities found within Central London located to the west.
