A plush home that overlooks one of Britain’s most unusual landmarks is for sale.
The three-bedroom detached house called The Grove is on the market for the first time in 47 years.
The property is just yards from an historical landmark called The Maharaja’s Well.

The structure was built in 1864 as a gift from the Maharajah of Benares, now Varanasi, in India.
He was inspired by his English friend Edward Anderdon Reade who had been the Lieutenant Governor of the North-West Provinces in India.
Reade initiated the digging of wells in India to provide clean water – a gesture that moved the Maharajah.
In response the Maharajah funded the sinking of the well in Stoke Row, near Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire as the village had faced water scarcity challenges.
Over a century later between 1979 and 1983 it was renovated with work carried out by builders MC Robins whose family have owned The Grove since 1977.
The well has an ornate iron canopy and elephant weathervane standing as a monument to the enduring power of friendship across cultures.
It inks a small English village with the grandeur of Indian royalty as reported by Luxury Property News.
The Grove offers nearly 2,000 square feet of internal accommodation with the potential to extend and develop subject to the usual consents.
The entrance hall leads down to an L-shaped sitting room with sliding doors to the patio and garden.
From here there is a family room also with sliding patio doors.
The kitchen is to the other side of the house and overlooks the rear garden and provides access to the dining room.
Off the kitchen there is a pantry, separate utility room with a back door.
Accessed from the utility room on the side of the house, there is a large conservatory with a vaulted ceiling.
Completing the ground floor is a cloakroom off the utility room and cellar under the sitting room.
Stairs from the hallway lead to the first floor.
There is a large principal bedroom with an en-suite bathroom.
There are two further double bedrooms and a family bath and shower room.
All bedrooms have built-in cupboards.
Outside the house sits back from the road behind a well pruned hedge, offering security and privacy but not blocking the view of The Maharajah’s Well.
The landscaped south-facing rear garden has an extensive patio off the back of the house, with a lawned area that wraps around the side of the house.
There are a variety of mature shrubs and flower borders.
The rear and side gardens are enclosed and private.
There is vehicle access from Well View, that provides driveway parking to the rear and a further entrance off Main Street, providing further parking and access to the workshops.
The house is being marked by Savills with a guide price £1.2million.
Agent Charlie Chavasse said: “Stoke Row is one of my favourite villages, with pubs and countryside walks off your doorstep there is plenty to enjoy.
“Coming to the market for the first time in nearly 50 years The Grove offers discerning purchasers a fantastic opportunity.”
