The former home of Hollywood icon Peter Cushing has hit the market for a cut price of £995,000.
The late great actor’s home was formerly listed for a whopping £1.4 million with the property now selling £405,000 less.
Peter Cushing is most known for his performances as Grand Moff Tarkin in the Star Wars franchise.
However, the actor spent a great portion of his career starring in the horror genre appearing in 50s classics such as Dracula and The Curse of Frankenstein.
The actor moved into the property when he was 13 after his family finished building it.
The four bedroom house was Peter’s home until he turned 26, when he moved to Hollywood to appear in his first ever film The Man in the Iron Mask in 1939.
The property was originally built in 1926 and is equipped with an official English Heritage blue plaque, paying homage to the great actor.
Peter Cushing’s acting career spanned for 47 years with the Brit appearing in over 100 films.
At the age of 91 the actor sadly passed away in 1994 after losing his battle with prostate cancer.
The home features three reception rooms, one bathroom and spacious garden at the rear of the house.
The home is located on St James road, Purley, Croydon, as reported by Luxury Property News.
Hamptons, who are currently marketing the home, stated: “Originally built in 1926 this wonderful Art Deco property is offered chain free and has been extensively renovated by the current owner to sympathetically adhere to the stylings and architecture of the original build.
“The property achieved Blue Plaque status by English Heritage in 2018 due to the actor Peter Cushing having once resided there.”
