The holiday home of Hitler’s right-hand man has gone up for sale and is estimated to go for a staggering £13m.

It was used as a holiday home for a family throughout the war before Göring was captured in 1945 and convicted of being a war criminal.

He was imprisoned in Nuremberg and given the death sentence, but committed suicide with a cyanide capsule in his cell hours before he was due to be executed in 1946.

The seaside home was held onto by his wife before being sold in 1958 to the Birkenstock family.

The shoemaker’s family spent their holidays there for 61 years until it was sold in 2019 for £10m.

It has since undergone extensive renovations and is now up for sale, as reported by Luxury Property News.

Historic details such as the original parquet flooring and a fireplace have been restored.

A heat pump and building services were also installed in the new basement.

Built in 1937, the property has been lovingly renovated in recent years by a renowned architectural firm, taking into account the listed building regulations, and a partial basement has been added.
