A futuristic spaceship home “inspired by Star Trek” has hit the market at just under $4 million.
From the exterior alone, it’s clear this will be a quirky property – with mirrored windows and a folded design.
But inside this San Francisco house, on the market for the first time, things take even more of a turn.

Set over four levels, the property has five bedrooms and four bathrooms, and cost $10 million and a decade to build, according to the listing agent.
Echoing the ‘60s and ‘70s heyday of the franchise, the home opens to mustard fabric walls and metallic finishes.
The kitchen looks like a sci-fi movie set, with the appliances largely hidden in favour of a clinical appearance.
Much of the décor and furnishings are clearly inspired by UFOs, with bright, shiny colours and curved edges.
Phones are dotted throughout, should you need to contact mission control, reports Luxury Property News.
On the first level, there’s a large conference room/performance space decked out with professional lighting, should you wish to match the purple colour scheme.
If the interior design isn’t quite your style, the home also has plenty of outdoor space to remind yourself you are, in fact, on Earth.
A living area opens up to a terrace, while upstairs there is a large rooftop area for sunbathing and enjoying the city views.
The listing reads: “Inspired by the Star Trek series and the Starship Enterprise, the creation of 1216 Folsom Street was a dream that took more than a decade and $10 million to conceive and build.
“Reflecting its creator’s vision of the future & his exacting specifications, [the home] is ready to transport a new owner on his/her/their creative journey to another new frontier.
“An indescribable and truly unique home in America’s most beautiful city.”
The property, photographed by Open Homes, is currently available with Corcoran Icon Properties for $3,995,000.
