The apartment is located inside the former church of St Thomas’ Hospital, spanning across an impressive five storeys.

Inspired by a New York loft, there’s exposed brick walls, preserved arched windows and the interior is modern, yet chic in its design.

Stepping inside, there’s a private lift, which goes up to the third floor – the first floor of the apartment – that contains an open-plan kitchen and dining area.

Complete with rustic wooden units, leather seats and hints of artwork, the room is compact, yet packs a punch.

Each floor is accessed via a spiral staircase.

Next up is one of the bedrooms; while dark in its design, with black furnishings, there’s loads of natural light that floods through from the two arched floor-to-ceiling windows.

The reception room offers a wraparound design, with a stud wall in the centre creating the illusion of two separate spaces.

While providing enough space to unwind and entertain guests, there’s also enough room for a miniature art studio, complete with an easel and other supplies.

Another floor-to-ceiling arch window doubles up as a door, with the bustling city waiting to be admired from below.

The second bedroom is simple, with a double bed, chaise lounge sofa and two more arched windows, making the already spacious room appear even larger.

Finally, the pièce de résistance is found on the top floor, which used to act as the bell tower.

Walking up the stairs, a glass wall sections off the room, with a simple sink and toilet attached to it.

Natural light floods through from the skylight above, which shines directly onto the rainfall shower underneath.

Its rustic wood-panelled ceiling and exposed brick truly makes this room one to admire from all angles.

Outside, there’s a private roof terrace on top, where The Shard stands out to be viewed, along with the London Eye, St Paul’s Cathedral and the River Thames.

The unique Grade II listed building was constructed in 1703 by Thomas Cartright, an architect and master mason of Sir Christopher Wren.

It was done as part of the rebuilding scheme for the original St Thomas’ Hospital between 1680 and 1732.

From the 12th century, it served as both a parish and hospital church, dedicated to Saint Thomas Becket and run by Augustinian monks and nuns.

The church’s attic was also used for storing and curing apothecary herbs, and as an operating theatre for women, with the aforementioned skylight added to allow surgeons to work.

Today, it is believed to be Europe’s oldest surviving pre-anesthetic operating theatre, where Florence Nightingale opened her nursing school in 1859.

When the hospital relocated due to the redevelopment of London Bridge, the church became redundant in 1899.

The tower, which also features a 1757 clock, is located only moments from the foodie haven of Borough Market, London Bridge station and Southwark.
