A two-bedroom flat has gone on the market for just £10,000 – but you’ll need to take a look inside before you get too excited.
The bargain property, in the Croxteth area of Liverpool, is listed as “in need of renovations”, with pictures of the interior demonstrating why.
While relatively unassuming from the street, the ground floor maisonette is completely gutted inside.
One room has large stains on the floor, random patches of black paint on the walls, and windows covered in metal that blocks out the light.
A wall under the stairs is smashed, leaving the wooden frame exposed, and the kitchen walls are covered in dark patches with ‘DO NOT USE’ stickers.
Upstairs, the bedrooms are in an equally sorry state, with smashed walls and electric cables dangling loose.
Again, windows are boarded up, other than in the bathroom – which is similarly in a state of disrepair, reports Luxury Property News.
While it’ll need a lot of work to make it a liveable space, it could be of interest to buyers looking to avoid the new stamp duty price hike, as the property sits easily under the thresholds – with first time buyers set to pay stamp duty on purchases over £300,000 from April next year, and home movers on purchase over £125,000.
And it could prove lucrative for budding landlords too, with the estate agent estimating that, once renovated, they “expect an achievable rental income of £800pcm” for the home.
The home is up for auction with Auction House South Yorkshire on 18 November, and is listed with a guide price of £10,000.
