A Grade II listed church in Croglin, a village rumoured to be haunted by a vampire, is on sale for £100,000 offering history, character and a truly eerie opportunity.

The Graded ll Listed place of worship is described as being “steeped in character and heritage.”

According to Augustus Hare’s Story of My Life, while a woman was trying to sleep, a strange creature appeared at her window.

It began picking out the lead surrounding one of the window panes with a long fingernail.

It put its hand through the gap and let itself in

The creature was described as having a brown face and flaming eyes.

Then the vampire bit her in the throat, according to the book written in the 1890s.

The church in the village of Croglin, near Carlisle, Cumbria, was built in 1878.

It’s being sold by PFK estate agents and advertised on Rightmove, as reported by Luxury Property News.

But only cash buyers can purchase it.

It had original hardwood floors and a stained glass window.

The graveyards surrounding the church are also being sold but protection of them will be part of the conditions.

The churchyard contains some medieval memorials as well as grave markers from the late 18th Century.
