An isolated home sitting on its own peninsula has been branded the “ultimate off-grid” pad – and it’s on the market for £250,000.
With no neighbours in sight and a quiet stretch of land as far as the eye can see, the property is an introvert’s dream.
Nestled on the west coast overlooking a tidal bay off Loch Linnhe in Oban is the waterfront home dating back to the 19th century.

Called Ardentinny Bothy, the home is located at the tip of a small peninsula, with stunning views to the east across the mountains of Argyll and of the surrounding waters.

The home is accessed via a farm track 1.5 miles across a farm, and can also be reached by boat.
Described as “brimming with character and rustic charm”, the pad features one bedroom and one bathroom, two reception rooms, including a cosy sitting room with a wood-burning stove and exposed timber ceiling beams, and a galley-style kitchen.

Stairs lead up to an attic, which can also be used as a bedroom, while outside there is an enclosed garden.
The Bothy benefits from a functioning WC connected to a septic tank, a rainwater collection system and a shower operated via an electric device powered by a USB battery pack, reports Luxury Property News.

Its remote location means you’ll have to travel three miles to reach the nearest amenities in the village of Benderloch, or 11 miles to Oban, the nearest town.
Historically, it was used as a sheltered entrance to Loch Creran and was a working farm until the mid-20th century, before being turned into an “off-grid, rural retreat”.

The current owners have owned the bothy since 2010, and have refurbished it, including installing double glazing.
