A nuclear bunker dating back to the 1950s has gone on the market for just £10,000.

Pictures show the unassuming exterior of a field in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.

But heading down a steep ladder in an opening, more space opens up below.

There doesn’t appear to be kitchen facilities, and the bathroom area is located behind the ladder.

The property was built as an observation post for the Royal Observer Corps (ROC) to provide protective accommodation for up to three observers in case of a nuclear attack.

The bunker is located on and under land owned by a local farmer, reports Luxury Property News, and comes with directions to locate it due to its rural location and rather hidden exterior.

The listing, held by Brown & Co Online Auctions, reads: “Rare opportunity to purchase a piece of British post-war history.

A 1950s nuclear bunker in Great Yarmouth is up for auction at just £10,000. Hidden underground, this historic relic offers unique potential for its future owner.

“This particular site was one of many observation posts built during the 1950s and was designed to provide protective, but extremely limited accommodation, for three observers in the event of a nuclear attack.”

The auction is set to take place on 4 December at 11 am, with a guide price of £10,000-£20,000 plus buyer fees – which includes auctioneers listing fees.
