A historic farmhouse is set to auction for an eye-watering price – but its dark history may put off potential bidders.

But it’s in need of some major TLC, reports Luxury Property News.

Back in 2016, the home made headlines after a huge blaze broke out, tragically taking the lives of Leonard and Freda Ewing, who were in their 90s.

According to local reports, the fire began when the cooker was left on one night, setting alight papers which were stacked in the kitchen.

As a result, it was left completely destroyed and has remained empty ever since.

Now, it’s being listed for auction, with a whopping £900,000 starting price.

For those looking for a project, there’s already full planning and listed building consent to turn the plot into a home of dreams.

There’s the opportunity for a luxury barn conversion, a new build and the potential for an annex, too.
